Extraordinary home addition with new masonry and new siding
The Chicago Bungalow was one of the most successful home designs in the past 100 years, and although it checked many boxes, it didn’t transition seamlessly into today’s kitchen-centric designs. The house was slated for demolition and re-zoning but the neighbors opposed the tear down and the investor backed out due to lack of imagination. We took over the project and on the existing bungalow footprint of 1,200’SF created a modern vintage home of 3,700’SF with cantilevered second floor and a Queen Anne portico for added charm and easy access when just running in between errands.
