Kitchen and Great Room Renovation

From Dysfunction to Game Day Destination

This family loves to entertain and lives in a great neighborhood, but their home wasn’t keeping up with their lifestyle. Despite having a spacious family room, it only seated six comfortably, making it difficult to host gatherings. Meanwhile, their large kitchen functioned more like a hallway—lacking an island or any meaningful space to gather. Hosting game nights meant heading to a neighbor’s house.

To transform the space, Hudson tackled the challenge of removing a load-bearing wall that separated the kitchen and family room. The reimagined design introduced two islands and tiered seating, turning the once-disconnected rooms into a unified great room—perfect for watching college and pro sports with friends and family.
